Heceta Head Lighthouse

The Heceta Lighthouse and Light Keeper's house are circa 1894.
Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Well, you can almost see the lighthouse..it's that tiny speck out there on the far peninsula.
(I took this picture from the Sea Lion Caves)

They turned the Light Keeper's house into a Bed and Breakfast years back, and started charging to go into the park.
I haven't been down there since. Can you say cheap?

The last time I was physically there, I climbed the hill behind the lighthouse to take in the view. That was a mistake.
Im deathly afraid of heights and immediately sat down after feeling like I was going to
plunge into the ocean after belly flopping down the side of the cliff.
After an hour of contemplation on how the heck I was going to return to tera firma,
I eventually came up with the brilliant idea that scooting all the way back down
on my butt would suit me just fine...*L*
