I keep hearing about all these "new sweeteners". I have always thought that the more processed a food is the harder it is for your body to process it. It just seemed logical to me that the closer to nature your food was the better it was for you. I have become ever more aware of this over the past year through reading and altering my own diet. (Pst did you know that the reason they like to put corn syrup in Icecream rather than regular sugar is that, while sugar tells your body to turn off the chemicals making you feel hungry corn syrup is enginered not to "fill you up"... therefor you never feel full from icecream and can eat more of it faster It's a sneeky trick to sell more icecream and make us fat... well the fat is a side effect but it still happens lol) Any how, I thought it might be a neat idea to start a thread on wheather artificial sweeteners are good or bad for you... cause right now they are being billed as a healthy alternative, and franky I don't think they are. (makes me uncomfortable when I have to offer "splenda" to my customers at work and no one touches the "sugar" thinking it's some how worse for them)

I firmly believe that if you want to injest something sweet, go for unprocessed cane sugars, brown sugar, fruit, or honey.
I've also found that the less surag I have (after about a 2-3 day withdrawl, cause yup sugar IS adictive!... but after that I find food tasts sweeter in general... when you're not inundated with tuns of crappy psydo-surgary-chemicals, you can actualy begin to taste the sweetness in regular foods again!) _________________ This is where I'm suposed to type something clever or cryptic right? |
